Bus passengers in Market Harborough can now keep out of the wind and rain thanks to a timber shelter made by the British Woodworking Federation‘s newest member.

Littlethorpe Joinery, of Enderby, designed the hardwood structure covered with cedar shingles for Leicestershire County Council.

The company makes bus shelters and other types of refuges for both public and private sector clients from Essex to the Welsh borders. Heavy timbers are used with mortice and tenoned joints, dowelled together.

It says several local authorities are now installing its shelters as part of an overall strategy to improve the waiting environment for public transport users.
