John Boddy Timber has supplied a quantity of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified mahogany, sourced from Central America, for use in a private renovation in London.
The Boroughbridge-based company supplied the wood to furniture and interiors manufacturer Fowler & company, of Portslade, to fulfill designer Nico Rensch’s exacting requirement for FSC-certified mahogany in the St John’s Wood project. Joinery and matching furniture was made from the timber.
Fowlers, many of whose jobs involve unusual timber specifications, turned to John Boddy Timber as it had previous experience working with the merchant.
John Boddy Timber recently secured a long-term agreement through non-governmental organisation Just World Partners (TTJ August 7/14) for the supply of FSC mahogany and other certified Central American species direct from communities in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
