Chris Wood and John Mumford, formerly of leading bespoke joinery product manufacturer Mumford & Wood, have joined Westbury Windows & Joinery.

The pair have joined Westbury shortly after the company completed a £2m investment in a new larger factory in South Woodham Ferrers and as it plans an expansion into the top end of the bespoke timber door and window sector.

Mr Wood’s role will be to grow sales to individual developers and homeowners, as well as increase architect specification and brand awareness through a diverse range of products.

Mr Mumford, formerly CEO at Mumford & Wood, will work on a technical consultancy basis.

Mr Wood said he believed Westbury would become a considerable force in the windows industry, helped by its commitment to UK manufacturing.

Westbury managing director Jonathan Hey described the recruitment as a “real coup”.

“Following our expansion and investment programme, securing the talents of both Chris and John seems like a natural fit in the evolution of our business,” said Mr Hey.

Mr Wood was managing director at Mumford & Wood for 18 years until February 2009, when he and Mr Mumford set up Iconic Internal Doors Ltd. The Performance Window Group had acquired Mumford & Wood in 2006.

He briefly returned to Mumford & Wood as sales and marketing director in 2010, before leaving last November.
