Founded by Derek Mumford and Dennis Wood in 1954, the company started out in small premises in Brentwood.
Today it operates from a large, modern plant in Tiptree and, said managing director Mike Harris, manufactures truly hi-tech, high performance products.
"All our bespoke, thermally-efficient timber fenestration systems for restoration, traditional and contemporary new build projects, are made to the standards of the British Woodworking Federation Timber Window Accreditation Scheme, which sets the industry benchmark," he said.
He added that the company had also made the most of the resurgence in popularity of natural timber windows and doors over PVCu.
"And this is set to rise, with timber [appealing to consumers as] they look better for longer, now offer a 65-year-plus life cycle and are ‘greener’."
The company’s success he said was also down to its "skilled and loyal" 100-strong workforce.
"Together we’ve built a brand, culture and reputation for high quality and high performance," said Mr Harris. "We’ve also faced the challenges in the construction market over recent years and are now better positioned to meet the upturn in the industry."
Mumford & Wood has been part of the Performance Window Group since 2006.
