People have been paying tributes to former UK timber industry executive David Garrick who has died after an entire working life in the timber industry.
He started in sales in Lancashire during the 1950s, progressing to become MD of Meyer (North) based in Hull. David moved to Hull in 1984 and spent nearly 20 years at Meyer.
He also spent time working at Lamboard.
Mr Garrick was an active member & past president of the Yorkshire & Humberside TTBS. “He will be sadly missed & the trade has lost a one of industry’s true gentleman,” said one timber trader.
The TTBS described him as a larger-than-life character in the Yorkshire and Humber timber trade circles.
