The weekly report on the North American forest products market has revealed that US and Canadian OSB producers expect production to be around 25.7 billion FT2 in 2007, down from 25.9 billion ft2 during the previous year.
The much-talked about decline in the US housing market was once again cited as the reason for the predicted decline, with a number of mills curtailing their production in order to take market-related downtime, including Canfor Corporation which has reduced OSB production by 14 million ft2.
