The Nottingham-based designer and manufacturer of vacuum coating, brush paint and drying machines has increased the working sizes in the VC5 to coat timber and MDF mouldings from 13mm quandrant to 300mm-wide window boards.

The new machine has also been developed to coat 100x100mm posts and is fitted with a variable speed to accommodate short or wide mouldings, or MDF mouldings up to 5m.

The coater uses Palmer’s own vacuum process to apply and remove water and white-spirit based paint, stain or lacquers, from all sides of timber or MDF mouldings in one pass.

“The vacuum process is extremely good at removing surface product from intricate mouldings such as ornate picture frames or dado rails or rebated casing, so it can be useful for use by timber merchants, importers, joinery manufacturers and also picture frame manufacturers,” a spokesman said.
