Karim Peer has been appointed as CEO of supply chain software company Helveta, taking over from Patrick Newton.

Mr Peer has spent more than 20 years growing and leading international software enterprises, in a range of capacities, including chief executive of OpenBet Retail Ltd and AIM-listed Financial Objects plc.

Helveta chairman John O’Connell said Mr Peer’s appointment marked a new era for the business.

We are grateful to Patrick Newton for his foresight, direction and dedication which has helped us achieve leadership to date and wish him well in his next venture,” said Mr O’Connell.

Helveta’s investors, management team and staff are work with partners around the globe on a wide range of projects, including national wood tracking systems in equatorial Africa, South-east Asia and Latin America.
