Plans to plant 13 new woodlands totalling 480ha in West Lothian, Falkirk and north and south Lanarkshire this winter have been approved.
Forestry minister Allan Wilson said the project will be backed by £1.2m of special Scottish Executive grants from the Forestry Commisson’s Central Scotland Forest Challenge Fund.
