PTG Treatments’ Tilbury plant has helped out the BBC Ground Force programme by treating reclaimed floor joists for use in a deck at Truro.
The joists, treated with Arch Timber Protection‘s Tanalith treatment to give protection against decay, were brought to Tilbury by Ground Force’s Willie Shanahan from a house in Hackney which the programme’s Tommy Walsh was dismantling.
Jeremy Piercy, PTG’s managing director, said: “The importance of Ground Force’s contribution to the timber treatment and decking industries cannot be underestimated. One word from Alan Titchmarsh and treatment sales spiral.”
The floor joists’ transformation will be featured in a new series of Ground Force to be transmitted in the New Year.
