A freeze on Russian roundwood export duties took effect at the turn of the year and will remain in place until Russia joins the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
The export duties won’t be removed completely upon Russia’s inclusion in the WTO, but the expectation is that they will not target the timber grades that are imported by Finland as heavily as has been the case to now.
