Södra‘s net sales for January-September rose to SKr10.1bn on the back of strong growth across its product range.
The Swedish forest industry group’s profits were down to SKr871m from SKr1.1bn a year ago, due to costs for structural measures and a reduced contribution from hedging.
Sawn timber consumption benefited from high levels of building activity in the US, Japan and Europe. But high supply levels have prevented prices from being raised in line with costs.
Södra’s sawmills produced 1.24 million m3 during the period, compared to 985,000m3 a year ago. Deliveries of biofuel from Södra Skogsenergi rose to 1.6 million m3.
