Second Build with Wood conference to be held in Ireland
23 August 2023Ireland’s Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine in collaboration with state forestry company Coillte is organising a conference called “Addressing the Climate and Housing Crisis” in October.
The conference will be the second Build with Wood event where delegates will meet with leading international experts, policymakers, and practitioners to hear about the latest developments in the field of timber design and innovation.
The building construction industry, scientific research communities and building regulators will come together to network, find inspiration, and share experiences.
Build with Wood #2 reflects on the potential for timber frame in addressing the demand for new homes and the need to construct faster, more affordable and more sustainable homes. The event supports the objectives of the new Inter-Departmental Timber Working Group in
Construction. This Working Group will examine regulatory challenges and standards to provide policy solutions and innovative approaches to further the use of timber in Modern Methods of Construction.
The event is at Beyond the Trees, Wicklow on October 4.
