The ISC takes place in Edinburgh on October 17-18, with a pre-programme tour of the Scottish timber industry from October 14-16, taking in BSW’s mill in Fort William, James Jones’s Lockerbie site, as well as the Commonwealth Games site in Glasgow.

The event is co-hosted by the TTF and Confor, in association with the European Timber Trade Federation and European Sawmillers Organisation.

"Traditionally the Conference alternates each year between predominantly producer and buyer countries, but as the British industry is so interlinked, we decided this year with Confor to host jointly," said Mr White. "It is a prestigious event and is a chance to demonstrate depth and nuances of the sector to some key figures; the international standard of our producers and our strong and serious prospects as a timber market."

The ISC is expected to attract an audience of 150 and will comprise a mixture of keynote presentations and round table discussions.
"There will be a tidal wave of valuable, current information delivered by some leading speakers, giving a very clear perspective on current and forward market prospects and opportunities," said Mr White.
