The cornerstones for future customer service were spelled out by Stora Enso Timber at a recent seminar in Tokyo.
The company, which has been trading in Japan for more than 10 years, sees the country as one of its most important markets.
Executive vice-president Peter Kickinger said: “We are strongly moving from traditional towards more advanced and further developed product concepts, both for the construction industry and the interior fittings and joinery industries.
“Our product portfolio will increasingly include products that fulfill the stability, strength and durability needs of the end users. Japanese tradition in wood based building, decoration and furnishing offers a very good platform for this development.”
Future developments will include automating routine transactions with the help of e-solutions, secure deliveries with minimised lead times and improved information flow.
