New research which shows that most people are prepared to pay an extra 2% for an eco-friendly home has been welcomed by the Super E timber frame housing programme.
The study, carried out for the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, the Halifax bank and WWF, found that 84% of people questioned were prepared to pay an extra 2% for a green home, while 87% wanted to know whether their homes were environmentally-friendly.
Jeff Culp, Super E housing programme spokesperson, said: “This plays right into our hands. Every Super E home buyer knows that their home meets the minimum standards and we have a website to back up what we are saying.”
