Bedser Bridge, which spans the Basingstoke Canal, was recently opened to the public and includes timber upstand walls as part of the design.
More than 1,800 people objected to the original all-concrete design.
The bridge links the town centre with WWF-UK’s new Living Planet Centre, which features a timber gridshell structure.
"During the design process, we listened and acted upon residents’ concerns which led to a bridge we should all be proud of, and is good for local residents, good for town centre businesses and good for visitors to Woking," said leader of Woking Borough Council councillor John Kingsbury.
