Builders, project managers and subcontractors are to be shown how to reduce construction site timber waste in a series of workshops run by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and Envirowise.

The 14 free workshops will be held across Britain in January and February, and will focus on the benefits of using Site Waste Mangagement Plans.

Timber and bricks will be key materials featuring in the programme, which includes looking at on-site storage, forward planning and project design.

Mervyn Jones, WRAP special projects manager, said: “Site Waste Management Plans are an important tool that can help address the rising costs of disposing of construction waste and also improve environmental performance.”
