According to the UKTFA, 73% of the Scottish housing market could be attributed to timber frame during 2005, an 8% growth on 2004 and that the number of timber frame housing and commercial units built during 2006 rose by 8.1% to 51,700.

Moreover, the UKTFA has stated that the value of the timber frame construction sector is due to have climbed by 11% during 2006 and is now worth £542m.

The growth in popularity of timber frame construction has led the UKTFA to stage a free networking event for Scottish timber frame firms and their supply chains at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, as well as a series of weekly seminars around the country relating to the new Scottish Building Standards Agency 2007 Technical Handbooks.
