A panel of timber experts will head up The Big Timber Debate at the Association for Environment Conscious Building summit to be held at the Earth Centre, Doncaster on July 4-5.
Len Yull from Pan European Forest Certification UK, Julie Collins from the Forestry Commission and Simon Counsell from – but not representing – the Rainforest Foundation are confirmed panellists with a fourth due from the Forest Stewardship Council.
The debate will cover topics from how timber can be sourced sustainably; whether certification schemes stand up to scrutiny; whether home-grown timber offers any real solutions; and whether new ways can be found of using timber.
