Roland Stiven has joined the Timber Transport Forum as national project officer and will drive delivery of the forum’s strategic plan
Mr Stiven has a BSc in forest management from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc from the University of Edinburgh. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
He has a wide range of experience having worked in forestry and rural development in the UK and abroad, in both the private and public sectors. As a Highland-based consultant for Raasay Woods Ltd, he developed a variety of partnership projects relating to rural land use and native woodlands for organisations such as Forestry Commission Scotland, Borders Forest Trust, Highland Birchwoods, English Nature and Scottish Natural Heritage. Previously he worked for both the Forestry Commission and SNH in advisory and policy-related roles.
He will be employed by ConFor on behalf of the forum and be based at its office in Edinburgh.
