The £110,000 transformation of the Milton Keynes branch of Timberbase is nearing completion.

The first phase has equipped Timberbase, the specialist timber arm of Buildbase, to compete in the expanding market for I-beams with the installation of a new £70,000 unit to cut products supplied by James Jones.

Buildbase director Martin Lee said: ‘Predictions show dramatic growth for the product and Timberbase needed a new production unit to keep pace with demand. Production has increased ten-fold.’

The next phase, currently under way, is expanding the range and siting of materials for sale to become a more general builders merchant, like Buildbase.
