Neil Forbes, managing director of TTJ Awards Gold Sponsor Weinig, says the Awards recognise companies that achieve the highest standards

It has been for many years a great privilege for Weinig as a company and its staff to be associated with the TTJ Awards. As the Gold Sponsor, it allows us to support an event which pays tribute and gives recognition to those companies and individuals that achieve excellence in our great industry. So convinced are we of the merits of the Awards scheme, that Weinig has been the Gold Sponsor of the event no fewer than three years in succession.

It is good for the timber industry and a positive help to businesses in the UK, who need the publicity for achieving the highest standards of service to customers – particularly in these difficult trading times. The fact that the winners are either voted for by TTJ readers or judged without bias by independent experts, makes it more valid and believable. TTJ deserves credit for conceiving the idea and making it work as well as it does ever since 1997.

Weinig's philosophy is to strive to achieve similar objectives – excellence in technological advancement, quality of product and service – hence our motto “WEINIG 100% Quality”. It has not been by accident that Weinig itself has won more than 10 times (more then any other machinery company) the renowned Challenger Award, the ‘Oscar’ of the woodworking machinery industry for innovation and excellence.

We also try to go that extra mile, by not only supplying bespoke and reliable machines to customers but, in addition, by encouraging them to work in partnership with us. This allows us to work closely with them to make sure that production targets from our machines are met, and to provide training and technical solutions when needed so that manufacturers can focus all their efforts on achieving company profitability.

Therefore, it is natural for Weinig as a company to stand up and join TTJ in honouring excellence and achievement within the timber industry. The Awards luncheon itself is a very prestigious event and an opportunity to relax, socialise and enjoy a special occasion with colleagues across the timber industry.
