Brewer build as capital timber specialist

Importer and merchant T Brewer & Co used its Ecobuild debut to promote its flexible timber milling services and to bill itself as a timber specialist for London, highlighting its next-day deliveries within the capital and the Home Counties.

“We were impressed with the numbers of visitors and the mix when we visited last year and decided it would be an opportunity to target our core market,” said director Nick Brewer. “We’re here to see building contractors, architects and other specifiers, and private individuals. Anyone who uses timber in London.”

Brewers’ ability to cut specific sections to order had a particular appeal to specifiers, he added.

“Specifiers are drawn to our depth in hardwood, which most merchants of our scale don’t offer, and our engineered timber supply and design consultancy service, with I-joists a particular focus.”

On the second day of the show, he said, Brewers had seen a good mix of visitors, notably building contractors. “And we’ve met a couple of companies which have accounts with us, but didn’t realise the range we offered so don’t use us to our full potential.”

Initial feelings about taking a stand, were positive, he said.

“We’ve swiped all our visitors’ badge bar codes and will do some post-show analysis, but I think it’s been worthwhile,” he said.
