Ecobuild:Coillte Panel Products launches two boards

DryBacker is an OSB3 modular panel designed for non-structural metal stud walls, while MediteVent is a breathable sheathing and racking panel.

Interim marketing manager Mike Harrison said DryBacker had already been used in three hospitals in Ireland as part of its development stage.

"It's ideal to fix to as part of an interior fit-out," he said.

The panels, which are available in 598x2397mm and 598x1197mm, have recesses on the vertical to accommodate the metal studs used in partition walls.

MediteVent was developed in response to demand from the timber frame sector, said Mr Harrison.

Coillte Panel Products was also drawing visitors' attention to its SmartPly FR/FR Build OSB3 - a flame retardant structural panel for use in timber frame walls and floors. The fire retardant is added during the panel's manufacturing stage.

The company's stand, which is constructed from OSB, with MDF furniture, illustrates the company's product range. It was first used at Ecobuild last year, and then again at Timber Expo in September, and this time around featured the addition of an arch made from SmartPly SiteProtect coated hoarding.

"OSB's strand orientation can put some people off so that's why we created SiteProtect," said Mr Harrison.

He added that the company's stand had been busy for most of the show and "we were quite impressed by the quality of visitors".
