JELD-WEN speeds door wrapping

3 July 2008

A BVM shrink-wrapping line has helped JELD-WEN to increase door production from six to 14 doors per minute.

The Compacta 10022, supplied by Adpak Machinery Systems Ltd, is an automatic trim sealer with a conveyor speed of 60m/min.

Adpak said household doors are traditionally wrapped with the wide edge leading through the sleeve wrapping system. But the system installed at JELD-WEN involves the door being totally enclosed with wrapping, with the narrow edge leading into the machine.

Similar machines have been supplied by Adpak to suppliers of flooring, kitchen doors, mouldings and conservatory frames.

The BVM technology can run with PE/PVC and polyolefin films from eight to 100 micron.
