Medite makes MDF fibre investment

22 March 2008

Metso Panelboard is to supply the Medite MDF plant in Clonmel, Ireland with two new defibrator systems.

The pair of EVO 56 systems will be used to generate fibre in the production of MDF, and will result in production efficiencies while maintaining static electric energy and steam consumption, according to the firm.

The investment includes the systems, installation, set-up and maintenance, and is part of the company's continued investment in establishing a first-class production facility for MDF at the Irish site it said.

"This major engineering project is a part of our planned and ongoing capital investment programme," said Gerry Britchfield, managing director at Medite's parent company Coillte Panel Products.
