Timber Expo: Hundegger UK ambition

5 October 2013

German trussed rafter, timber frame and SIPs machinery specialist Hundegger made its Timber Expo debut to further underline its ambitions in the UK and Irish market.

"We already have a good presence in the UK, with around 25 machines in operation across our various markets," said Walter Fahrenschon. "But we see opportunities for growth, particularly with the increased interest in timber construction and building with SIPs components."

The company has also emphasised its commitment to the UK, he added, with the appointment of Chris Osborne, formerly managing director of Michael Weinig (UK) and Homag (Asia) to represent the business.

"Chris's knowledge of the market, his extensive contacts and reputation in the business are undoubtedly helping develop brand awareness," said Mr Fahrenschon.

Hundegger was promoting its full range of equipment, but focusing particularly on its new compact super-fast, Turbo-Drive saw. The five-axis unit can be positioned 360° in angle and tilted up to 180° in the bevel axis simultaneously. It can also move the "zero line of the workpiece to a 90° bevel", making it possible to produce horizontal slots an any angle in any position.
