Timber Expo: Sam on identify parade

5 October 2013

Irish mouldings manufacturer SAM used Timber Expo as a launch pad for its new brand identity.

The rebranding is in recognition of the need to communicate clearly and consistently with customers in the UK, Europe and the US and brings a new contemporary feel to the range.

The products are now in clearly defined categories, hence SAM Mouldings is the company's traditional range of primed and unprimed MDF, while SAM Stock is the core range of primed mouldings in various lengths and sizes.

Products within this group include the bread and butter profiles such as torus, ogee and pencil round, along with window boards.

SAM Wrap comprises profiles finished with wood veneer, paper or PVCs, shrink-wrapped for protection and easy storage. SAM Zero runs with the tagline "bye bye brush", a reference to the fact that no further painting is required, and features pre-primed profiles finished with two coats of waterbased acrylic gloss.

Last but not least is SAM Trimax. Manufactured from Medite Tricoya, SAM Trimax is suitable for exterior applications such as cladding, window components, fascias and soffits.

"The whole premise is to add value to the standard product," said Gerard Wilson, sales director. "Merchants want added value as that brings them added margin."
