Timber Expo: Vandecasteele enjoys the Forum factor
5 October 2013The regular Timber Buyers’ Forum was extended this year to include specifiers and was sponsored again by Vandecasteele Houtimport, which had the adjacent stand.
"The organisers have done a great job with the forum," said export manager Genevieve Standaert. "And many of the buyers and specifiers who attended the forum have then come onto our stand - people attract people."
This year's show proved to be "even better than last year", said Ms Standaert.
"It costs a lot of money to exhibit but it's worth it to see all your customers and suppliers in two days."
She added that Vandecasteele was becoming a bigger player in US hardwoods, since including them in the product portfolio last year and that the company was now also able to offer FSC-certified bilinga, "from decking through to very large sections".
"The market has reacted well to it," she said.
