TTF appoints sustainability executive

Anand Punja has been appointed as The Timber Trade Federation’s (TTF) new sustainability executive.

Mr Punja previously worked as a senior sustainability consultant with Jones Lang LaSalle, focusing on sustainable construction. Prior to that he worked for ECOTEC Research and Consulting Ltd and as a researcher for the Institute of Development Studies Environment Group.

In his new role, Mr Punja will work directly with Rachel Butler, TTF head of sustainability, on the TTF’s Responsible Purchasing Policy and issues surrounding legal and sustainable timber, providing broad policy advice and implementation across a range of CSR issues impacting the wood industry and construction supply chains.

Chief executive John White said Mr Punja understood “the sustainability sector inside out, particularly sustainable construction, has great knowledge of the issues facing our customers and will help assist the TTF to develop and implement initiatives that complement our work helping the industry sell more wood”.
