UKTFA signs up members

Interbuild has brought in the client community, so I can speak highly of it this year,” said Bob Davis, membership manager of the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA).

“We’ve had lots of visitors, including manufacturers and builders, all wanting to find out more about timber,” said Mr Davis, speaking on the fourth day of the show. “Today alone I’ve had about 40 leads,” he added.

The UKTFA was offering visitors to the stand free associate membership, a deal which, among other things, would allow them free access to the technical helpline.

“Once we’ve got their attention, we can then direct them to our website where they can enter a project and a location and draw down a list of suitable timber frame manufacturers. They can also access lots of free, downloadable documents – on zero carbon, fire safety and so on,” said Mr Davis.

“Times are tricky, but timber frame is holding its own, particularly in the social housing market where it has 65% market share.”
