USNR buys Inovec

USNR, the US-based manufacturer of machinery and control systems for the wood processing industry, has acquired fellow American company Inovec.

Inovec, which supplies optimisation and control systems for primary and secondary breakdown in sawmills, was bought by USNR from General Electric (GE).

“USNR's optimisation products have generally targeted the softwood side of the industry, while over the last 27 years Inovec has focused more on hardwood sawmills,” said Chris Blomquist, vice-president and manager of USNR's optimisation division.

“Pooling our resources will create a winning combination for USNR, Inovec, and our combined customers.”

Mr Blomquist said the takeover will result in better products and service for Inovec's customers, as Inovec's former parent company GE had not been focused exclusively on the forest products industry.
