Visitor numbers at this year’s W8 Working with Wood exhibition dropped by 11%, organisers have announced.

The biennial exhibition, the UK’s leading woodworking technology show, attracted 9,921 visitors at Birmingham NEC on October 26-29. Paid-for exhibitor space was down about 2% to 14,900m² from 15,200m² two years ago.

“To get nearly 10,000 people against a difficult economic backdrop was quite good.” said W8 exhibition director John Smith-Bodden.

Organised by the Woodworking Machinery Suppliers Association, this year's event ran concurrently with building products show Interbuild.
