Five graduates receive forestry award

29 July 2010

Five forestry and arboriculture degree graduates have won the Institute of Chartered Foresters’ (ICF) Best Student Award.

The award recognises the brightest students graduating with forestry and arboriculture degrees across the UK. Winners receive a cheque from the ICF and a certificate presented by ICF chartered members, who are leading professionals in forestry and arboriculture.

The five winners were: Thomas Coates, National School of Forestry, Cumbria; Claire Harbison, Myerscough College; William Malcolm, University of Bangor; Anthony Marshall, University of Edinburgh; and Kamil Witkos, University of Aberdeen.

ICF president Bill MacDonald said all the graduates demonstrated a focus on excellence. “They should be very proud of what they have accomplished so far,” he said.
