Dr Stephan Lang is elected as a new member of the executive board, taking over from Carsten Doehring, the acting president of the German Association of the Sawmilling Industry (DeSH), who leaves his seat after seven years. Dr Lang represents DeSH interests at European level.
Four other board members were elected: Mathias Fridholm, Skogsindustrierna, Sweden;
Nicolas Douzain-Didier, Fédération Nationale du Bois, France; Maria Polz, European Hardwood Production, Austria (EOS vice-president, hardwood); and Nicolae Tucunel, ASFOR, Romania.
The other members of the board are:
Sampsa Auvinen (EOS president); Ernest Schilliger, Schilliger Holz, Switzerland (EOS vice-president, softwood; Kai Merivuori, Sahateollisuus, Finland; Herbert Joebstl, Stora Enso, Austria; and Thomas Sève, Sève-Monnet, France.
