The environmental group is backing the 73-home timber frame affordable housing complex, built for Tower Homes at Ilford Wharf, Essex, using over 50% sustainable timber.

“We believe the Hollybrook Homes project is showing the rest of the construction industry that not only is FSC possible, but it can be done on time and on budget,” said Greenpeace forest campaigner Ben Ailiff.

He said the group would like to see the rest of the industry adopting similar strategies. “The project is leading the way and setting the benchmark for the rest of the industry, showing the UK that FSC is both affordable and achievable.”
