In a statement, both companies said they were delighted to reach the agreement, with the full Roger Mitchell (UK) team joining Nason Davis effective from January 19.
The directors of Nason Davis described the agreement as a great opportunity for both
independent businesses, saying there was a “terrific synergy” between them.
The expanded business combines strong agency and trading relationships in the core softwood sector for the UK trade, they added.
“This is an exciting new venture for me and the Roger Mitchell team,” said Nick Mitchell of Roger Mitchell (UK).
“The Mitchell name has been a feature of the timber trade for 94 years, but the business is bigger than the name. I am so pleased to have found a way to secure the future of our business into the long term for our suppliers, our customers, and all our staff.”
Nason Davis has offices in the UK, Estonia and Japan, acting as timber agents for its supplying mills and supplying product from Estonia, Finland, Norway, Latvia, Sweden, North America, Russia, Poland, and several other European countries.
?Its sales markets are primarily the UK and Japan with an expanding business in China and France.
