Chong Yik Ing, the Malaysian director of Finewood Marketing, died on Saturday at his family home in Malaysia, after a long battle with cancer.
Mr Chong had worked for Finewood Marketing for nearly 10 years, since his retirement from Finewood Forest Products. His knowledge of all aspects of the industry in general, and the moulding business in particular, were invaluable and his reputation for honesty and integrity meant that he was welcome everywhere he went and many people in the industry actively sought his advice and guidance on many matters.
Mr Chong worked for Finewood Forest Products for over 30 years in almost every capacity, from machinist through to managing director, and all the staff benefited greatly from working with him.
He was a deeply religious man, remembering many people in his prayers over the years, and his faith sustained him over the last difficult months, as well as the devotion of his family and the love of his many friends.
Staff at Finewood Marketing held Mr Chong in high regard and say it was an honour and a privilege to have worked, travelled and spent time with him.
Mr Chong leaves his wife Shirley, two sons William and David and daughter Catherine, as well as two grandchildren Eva and Damian.
