Pasquill supplied the trussed rafter solution for the complex hip-ended roof of a £2.5m timber frame school project.

Working closely with timber frame kit provider Fleming Buildings, the architects and main contractor CBC, Pasquill had to navigate a site with restricted access.

The only site access was an archway built into medieval walls, formerly belonging to an abbey.

A careful site survey led to the design of an efficient delivery and off-loading system, which meant off-loading the roof trusses before carrying them by hand through the archway.

The roof over the development’s gym hall used a complex three-art truss configuration.
