The Posi-Joist Revolution is running at Donaldson’s Ilkeston, Derbyshire, site. It is the third Revolution press in the UK although the other two are in use with timber frame kit manufacturers.
The Revolution can produce up to five times the volume of open-web joists than a traditional press, a spokesperson for Donaldson said.
Managing director Jonathan Fellingham said: "The press will give us efficiencies that will allow us to offer Posi-Joists at competitive rates on a longer-term basis. This should make Posi-Joists an attractive alternative to I-Joists for builders and contractors, particularly in longer span applications and where there are intensive electrical, ventilation and plumbing service requirements."
