French tropical hardwood supplier Rougier has posted €4.4m annual net profits.
The company said the results follow a financial strengthening of the group, with equity increasing by €25.6m.
Operating profits of €5.3m represented 3.6% of consolidated annual turnover of €147m – a figure released in Rougier recent trading update.
The main Africa International division recorded a turnover of €115.4m, a 6.4% growth compared to 2010.
Rougier said operating profitability was influenced by the profound transformation of the forestry sector in Gabon, which has suffered in the past two years. The company said some very important modifications of its growth model in Gabon were required, within its organisation, production, processing and logistics operations.
Rougier sold 35% of the Africa International business to the Deposit and Consignment of Gabon for €24m on December 29, 2011.
