Estonian logging company Södra Eesti is being investigated for the incorrect management of VAT in relation to timber sales.
Södra Eesti, which is a joint venture between Södra and SCA, is being questioned on SKr7m-worth of VAT and other taxes. It has closed the timber terminal involved and suspended employees under investigation.
Södra, the majority owner of the company with a 51% stake, said it has commenced an internal investigation and is co-operating with Estonian prosecution authorities.
