More than 51,000 forest owners in southern Sweden are members of the Södra economic association, accounting for more than half of all privately-owned forest in the region.

"Together they manage a legacy, a raw material, as well as biological diversity, but also continue the hard work started by previous generations to restore forests in southern Sweden," a spokesperson said.

Södra also employs 3,500 people in its four business areas – sawn and planed timber goods, interior products, paper pulp and biofuel.

The anniversary theme will celebrate the past as well as the present, sustainability and future development, the company said.

"During the 75 years that Södra has existed, it has been our fundamental goal to support family-owned and operated forestry enterprises by creating opportunities for the sale of our members’ forest products, but also to develop products and services that will increase productivity and profitability."
