GE Robinson at Salford and associate company Garstang Timber and Building Supplies in Preston, have installed Compact 4164 models to handle all their sizing.
The Compact replaced an ageing beam saw at Salford and sizing on a dimension saw in the sawmill at Preston. Makerfield Timber and Building Supplies in Wigan has been using a Compact since 2007.
Both new saws, supplied by TM Machinery Sales, are fitted with a 400mm strip cutter accessory for fast repeat cuts. The 4164 is the smallest in the Strieberg entry level range.
"It’s flexible, accurate, sturdily built and efficient, as well as being a valuable space saver," said GE Robinson operations director Paul Kavanagh.
